Franke’s style of music is pretty much everything.
“There is never a time that the music I write fits into a single genre,” Franke said.
For nearly eight years, Franke has been playing and creating music. In the fifth grade, he started playing the saxophone but he picked up a guitar about two years ago.
“My older sister, Emily, had a huge influence on me when it came to starting guitar,” Franke said.
And there’s no signs of him putting down his guitar. It’s why he will continue his passion after high school at Illinois State University. There, he plans on majoring in audio and music production, which in return will help him become an improved musician.
Franke’s music has not only inspired himself, but also the people around him.
“Daniel inspires me to become a better version of myself every day,” senior Kyle Niven said.
Franke makes his music for everyone to listen to and his friends have seen his skills on display.
“Without the use of music pads or other tech, it shows how present his talent is,” Niven said.
Although music has been a big part of Franke’s life, his high school experience at Elk Grove has helped him find his passion even more.
“By giving me opportunities to grow as a musician whether it was through music workshop or band class, Elk Grove has helped me become better,” Franke said.
So to listen to Franke’s music, simply head to Spotify and type in his name. It’s all part of his hope to leave Elk Grove by inspiring other students who love music as much as he did to go out there and express that form of art to the world.
“My biggest takeaway from Elk Grove is to leave a good legacy behind and to treat others how you want to be treated,” Franke said.
