Boys swimming hopes to do well for sectionals

The boys swim team is heading hot into the conference championship. The season is going very well for the freshmen and sophomores. Their season is wrapping up this Friday for the divers and Saturday for the swimmers. Now the usual day for a varsity diver or swimmer are two practices a day: one in the morning at 6 am and then one after school. Then on Friday and Saturday they have their meets. According to Head Coach Keith Kura, “The key to success is coming to practice everyday. Each day builds off the other, and every day that you miss someone else is moving past your conditioning level.” The varsity team prepared for their conference meet on February 13 and their sectional meet on February 20. Some swimmers who stand out are seniors Michael Banasik, Adam Doruff and Sean Frintner. There is also one freshman swimmer to look out for, Adrian Wlodarz. Coach Kura stated “Anyone who is looking to get in great cardiovascular shape should join the swimming program.”
He also added “There is a great core group of guys who push each other to be the best and the friendships that are built are life lasting.”
