NHS recognizes exceptional students

Elk Grove’s National Honor Society is an organization that recognizes outstanding high school students.

In order to be selected for NHS, students need to be either a junior or a senior, and have a minimum GPA of 4.8. These students show greatness in the four main criteria: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. The selected students continue to work together to help service the community and the school.

This organization is sponsored by counselor Scott Deutsch. He believes that “it’s a wonderful organization that highlights students that have taken their four years very seriously both in the classroom and outside of the classroom. It’s a great way to recognize students for their hard work, dedication, for challenging themselves, for giving back to the community, and for helping their fellow peers when they’ve needed help.”
