Seniors Karl Freidenfelds and Matt Eder spend their Wednesday lunch periods at Chick-fil-A. Freidenfelds and Eder brave time constraints to honor this lunchtime ritual.
For many students, lunch is a sacred time in their day. Many students have strict routines, and they are not to be broken. Perhaps the most common and popular of all the lunch habits is “Taco Bell Tuesday”.
Despite the obvious alliteration, Taco Bell Tuesday is more than just a fun name. It is the day that many students look forward to the most. Senior Matt Eder has been a part of this Tuesday tradition since he was a sophomore.
“It’s a tradition that can’t be broken,” said Eder. “We have a specific nozzle to get Baja Blast from. It’s a great restaurant with great food and great employees.”
This tradition continues to be taken very seriously today.
Another lunch habit on the rise is “Chick-Fil-Ednesday”. Chick-fil-A is a little more expensive than Taco Bell Tuesday, but quality is definitely not an issue. 10 dollars at Chick-fil-A will get you a chicken sandwich, fries and eight chicken nuggets. Some would argue it is the most premium of chicken.
“You’re not going to find a better chicken sandwich,” Freidenfelds said.
On the other hand, if you bring 10 dollars on Tuesday, you can afford the whole right side of the menu. Although the food and prices differ, the two lunch habits are equally as important.
Senior Karl Freidenfelds, founder of “Chick-fil-Ednesday,” loves the Tuesday-Wednesday lunch lineup.
“It was inspired by myself and Matt Eder, the only one brave enough to make the voyage with me,” Freidenfelds said.
Unfortunately, many students do not have the guts to attempt to go that far for lunch and still make it back in time for class. Freidenfelds recognizes the set back, but it does not stop him.
“With great power, comes great responsibility,” Freidenfelds said.
