DaVinci’s grilled chicken breast sandwich
New to Elk Grove Village is a restaurant that goes by the name of DaVinci’s Pizza and Catering. Located on 784 South Arlington Heights Road, DaVinci’s is part of the mini strip mall next to Tapalpa. This restaurant is a quick two minute drive from the high school and otherwise easily accessible from anywhere in Elk Grove.
Open a menu and you will find it very descriptive as well as easy to read. The menu’s categories are broken down into appetizers, cold and hot sandwiches, pasta, dinners, fish dinners, salads, soups, pizza, beverages, kids menus, and desserts – that’s a lot to choose from. Plus, DaVinci’s offers food they you can’t order anywhere else.
They have speciality pizzas like their garbage pizza, (sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and olives), margarita pizza, and even taco pizzas.
And if you’ve never tried pig wings, cheese curds, or fried mac and cheese wedges, nows your chance –you’ll only find them at DaVinci’s.
As far as desserts go, this restaurant has got the goods. Homemade cannolis, Italian lemonade, as well as fried apple dumplings, dough, brownies, and even fried cheese cake bites!
Many of their meals come with a choice of sides including a side salad, pasta and either homemade fries (with the skins), potato wedges, or chips – all of which are awesome and recommendable. Or try the freshest, softest bread and butter on this side of the Atlantic Ocean!
My family recently ordered from there and was very pleased with our meal. The workers were very friendly and they had my food ready in no time. Their pizza was tasty and at $1.95 their pizza by the slice is cheaper than places like Munchies.
My chicken tenders that I ordered were still hot when I got home and they came in big pieces. They were delicious, although they did forget to pack my dipping sauce with them and the cheese for my fries. As far as salads go, their Greek salad was a classic and better than other restaurants. The grilled chicken breast sandwich looked mouth-watering and tasted amazing.
The one major drawback to DaVinci’s is that the restaurant is strictly for delivery and pick-up. There’s no place to sit and eat so if you plan on going out for dinner, plan on eating in your car or taking it home.
Their reason for no dining area is probably due to the fact that DaVinci’s cooks their pizzas in a huge oven. They need the monster of an oven to accommodate for another of their specialties -the Stadium Size Pizza. A whopping 30″ by 14″ pizza.
No need to drive all the way to a place like Rocco Vino’s for Italian style cuisine when DaVinci’s is right around the corner. In the future if you are looking for a restaurant to have a fundraiser with, look no further. Plus keep an eye out for possibly heart shaped pizzas to be added to their menu during the holidays.
If you like tasty, classic Italian dinners and desserts head over to DaVinci’s right away. Feed your hunger! They are open from 4 – 9 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, 4 – 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 – 9 p.m. on Sundays. To order call (847) 364 – 7300.
